Selle Italia SLR Boost 3D Kit Carbonio Superflow SaddleThe name is a handful, but the ride feel is spot-on. This was only used on 3 rides before switching out – which was only due to a change of colour scheme on our OPEN Cycle MIN.D test bike, not through lack of comfort! According to the marketing, it is: “designed for those who seek a high-performance, lightweight saddle that supports longer distances with ergonomic precision. Featuring an additional +10mm rail length, it provides increased adjustability, allowing for a more customized fit. The neutral saddle shape supports the ischial bones, while the Superflow cut-out reduces pressure on the perineum, making it easier to stay comfortable on long rides. Its compact shape and shorter nose improve maneuverability and pedaling efficiency, giving you an edge on every climb.” – So there you go… This is the 145mm width, which Selle Italia call the L3 fit. Published weight is 171g. It’s immaculate, completely unmarked. RRP is $700, BikeBug currently have them on sale at $500, so for the use this is still a comparative bargain. $395 Click here to contact Rich to purchase this saddle. |
SMP 30c Evo SaddleBrand new, boxed, unused, SMP 30c Evo saddle in black. This is a very recent release from SMP based on a development of the F30c design (hence ‘evo’), and is currently out of stock most places. The ‘c’ refers to compact, denoting this as a shorter saddle design. 150mm width (apparently for 12.6-15cm wide sit bones), 235g weight. Rails are ‘AISI 304’. $395 Click here to contact Rich to purchase this saddle. |

SOMEC ProMax mid-90’s Steel ClassicBuilt only recently, but now being moved on to free up funds for another retro build, this is a mid-90’s Somec ProMax, made with the legendary Columbus MAX tube set, and painted by the renowned Mario Martini. The top tube is 56cm and the seat tube is 56.5cm c-to-c (15cm head tube). The groupset is a very low use full 9v Campagnolo Record with carbon levers. Further to that, the front derailleur was NOS when the bike was built, as were the Record ProFit pedals – both at significant expense (boxes provided for both, and cleats for the pedals obviously). The seat post & headset are also Record, whilst the stem is a Nitto-produced Sim Works model. The bars are Deda Speciale, and the saddle is a Rolls Titanio (could be changed for a NOS red Flite). The pictured wheels will not be the ones provided. A low use set of Chorus hubs built into immaculate Mavic rims in the CD finish will take their place, shod with Veloflex tanwall clinchers. Condition-wise, there are minimal imperfections, but it’s not totally immaculate – it is a used bike of over 30-years after all. The very minor ding in the non-drive side of the top tube is only visible in certain light (it can be seen in the non-drive side pic included), and it can barely be felt by hand. Otherwise there are a few minor paint chips dotted about the frame, and a thin tyre rub mark on the back of the seat tube. The frame looks to have been fully chromed before paint, and these marks do not go through the chrome, so rust does not appear to be an issue. Despite not being perfect, I reckon you’d struggle to find a better one in Australia. It’ll clear the 27c Challenge rubber pictured, although you do need to deflate the rear tyre to get it in the frame – a minor inconvenience, totally offset by the ridiculous power transfer that the short stays result in, not to mention that glorious paint! $2695 It can be shipped at your cost – fully insured shipping will likely be around $250. Happy to pack it for you to arrange your own shipping too.< Click here to contact Rich to discuss purchasing this. |
